The city of Georgetown is on stand still as several officers at the Camp Street Prison were severely injured by what appears to be a massive prison break. The Guyana Defence Force along with the Police Police are working jointly to calm the situation as it is quickly escalating.
Some of the prisoners were evacuated to the officers Mess Hall which is located directly opposite of the prison but it was further reported that the evacuated prisoners set the hall a blaze also in further attempts to avoid restraint.
Nearby houses were also shot at and set a blaze from the already gorging fire.
