The OAS in a press conference this afternoon took the opportunity to blast the inefficiencies and errors at GECOM. In the press conference the Organization of American States (OAS) stated that there were a few white envelopes that were unescorted and handled by unofficial polling officers given to GECOM and tabulated.
The OAS stated that GECOM refusal publish preliminary results by GECOM and follow the initial rules and procedures that was implemented prior to Election Day is of great alarm.
The OAS showed mostly disapproval with the conduct of the elections commission and made several recommendations including gender equality in the electoral process. The representative of the observer mission stated that there is much more to talk of but will do so in future statements.
Meanwhile the APNU and opposition leaders are gathering in droves at the office of GECOM, more while the story develops.
