The body of a Guyanese man was found at his Macoya Road Extension home on Wednesday morning.
The victim, identified as Seekumar Lalchand aged 52 was found around 11 a.m. by a relative.
His hands had been tied behind his back and his feet also bound.
Police said that the body was also in an advanced state of decomposition.
As a result the police were unable to say how he was killed.
Visiting the scene yesterday was Snr Supt Mc Donald Jacob who heads the Police Northern Division as well as the District Medical Officer.
After the scene had been processed by Crime Scene Unit officers the body was later taken to the Forensic Science Centre and a post-mortem is expected to be performed to determine the man’s cause of death.
Officers of Region Two of the Homicide Bureau are continuing investigations.
